Linda, the first time she started doing dishes, thought there was no hot water. The shower stall is small which is to be expected, but the water situation took me by surprise. They have one of those new type hot water systems that gives hot water instantly. The shower i found to be the weak link in the cabin. The bathroom, as in most cabins is small, but ok. It had a large combination dining and living room. The cabin was nice with 2 bedrooms with one double bed in each. This past weekend 8-2 thru 8-4 Linda and I took Nicklas our 5 year ols Grandson to Cook's Forest. I recommend staying here to get away from life's problems and reconnect with nature. There is also a path out the back of the hotel to walk down to the river. The hotel is centrally located and close to the river. The bacon was okay, but that sausage was delicious. I got the bacon and eggs one day and sausage and eggs the next. It was the same cost for our room whether we chose it or not so why not take advantage of it? Breakfast is included with the room cost. We chose a midweek special that included a $75 voucher for dinner. It had a fudge type texture and delicious flavor. That steak was big enough for both of us. My husband chose the rib eye steak and baked potato. I had the chicken stuffed with granny smith apples, red pepper sweet potatoes and salad. The portions are huge so keep that in mind when ordering. I applaud establishments that utilize local produce. I cannot say enough about this restaurant as it is a farm to table eatery. Cheyanne (not sure of the spelling) in an awesome server and she makes a mean gin and tonic. We sat on the deck and sipped our tea and enjoyed the serenity. We hauled it back down to the great-room and found coffee, iced tea, hot tea and cookies. We arrived just in time for afternoon tea. Our room was comfortable and featured a king sized bed, corner jacuzzi tub and a private balcony. The woman that checked us in was friendly and took us on a tour of the hotel as she walked us to our room. Walking across the front porch to the desk, we could feel the peacefulness starting to creep in. We wanted a getaway from the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives.
